Smart Girl’s Guide to Intuition

What's it really mean to be a "smart girl" and what's the best way for us to tap into our intuition - that hunch, the inner voice, the knowing. How can we access that to guide us through our day and life? That's exactly what Dr. Robyn McKay and I get into today!

Robyn takes us through the journey of shedding the identity she was cattle run through as a smart girl and how that left her in crisis at 27, the woman she wanted to be - nowhere in sight. We'll hear how she set about changing her reality, living for herself and moving into a position to share her research, knowledge and expertise with others. Can't wait for you to listen!

Key moments in the conversation include:

  • Find a picture of your younger self - What dreams did she have? What was it that she wanted to do when she was bright eyed and full of optimism? If she could see you now, what would she say?

  • Find an activator - Don't feel like you need to wait for an existential crisis before you can make the changes needed in your life. Find one area of your life you can start to work on and see how the others start to fall into place.

  • Tune into your intuition - Your intuition is the most powerful of all our senses, it's that knowing, that hunch, that voice inside that's there to help you navigate this world. You can start to tune in by setting an intention as well as using practices like meditation, exercise, yoga, and a healthy diet to start to tap in.

  • Recognize your "something's gotta change" moments - This is the time to listen to your gut and use that occasion to take that leap. You have a choice. You can either wake up and stay awake, or you can go back to sleepwalking and doing the same thing every day.

  • What's your bullshit tolerance? - Everyone is different. Some of us have a higher tolerance for stress and bullshit and it takes longer to burn out at a job. Because of the high tolerance the stress usually ends up manifesting itself physically through pain or sickness. You can only push so far until something breaks.

  • Recognize you are NOT a cog in the machine - You're not a machine and you're not a resource. Shift away from this corporate mindset and transform your relationship with work and money. You are so much more than any corporate brand you might or might not be associated with.
